Ride-on mechanical sweeping in Brisbane for car parks and large hard floors
A broom cannot keep up with a car park or a warehouse floor. A ride-on sweeper picks up grit, dust, leaves and litter in a fraction of the time, with the dust contained rather than raised. Scheduled as a periodic line item, or as a one-off sweep before an inspection, an audit or an open day.

About this service
Large hard floors generate their own mess. Tyres bring grit into a car park, pallets shed splinters and shrink-wrap across a warehouse, and the breeze through a loading dock deposits leaves and dust in the corners. Sweeping that by hand takes hours, raises the dust into the air and leaves the lines and the corners still dirty. A ride-on mechanical sweeper does the same floor in a fraction of the time, with brushes lifting the debris and a filter system keeping the dust in the hopper.
Delta Cleaning provides ride-on mechanical sweeping for basement and open car parks, warehouses, distribution floors, showrooms and other large hard floors across Brisbane and Moreton Bay. The sweeper is driven by a cleaner assigned to the site, after hours or between shifts so there is no conflict with vehicles or forklifts, and the corners, edges and the areas around columns are finished by hand.
For strata buildings and commercial premises the sweeping is a periodic line item in the scope, with a frequency the committee or manager approves. A one-off sweep before a fire inspection, a property audit, a tenant inspection or an open day is priced per sweep from a walkthrough. The owner inspects the floor on the scored checklist and records the visit in your portal.

What a mechanical sweep includes
- Full pass of the floor with the ride-on sweeper, with dust captured in the filtered hopper
- Edges, corners, column bases and the areas behind bollards and wheel stops finished by hand
- Ramps, speed humps and drainage grates swept and cleared
- Litter, leaves, cardboard and packaging debris collected and removed
- Oil spots and spills noted and treated or reported, depending on the scope
- Line markings and bay numbers swept clean so they are visible again
- Loading docks, service lanes and the apron around roller doors included where accessible
- Debris removed from site or placed in the building's waste as agreed
- Safe work method statement covering the machine, the site traffic and the hours of work
- A note in the portal on anything found: lighting out, damaged bollards, dumped items, water ingress
Pressure washing of oil stains and a full car park wash are separate jobs, often scheduled alongside the sweep. Floors with heavy standing water, loose aggregate or unsealed earth are assessed at the walkthrough to confirm the sweeper is suitable.
Floors that suit a ride-on sweep
Strata and commercial car parks
Basement and open car parks where grit, leaves and litter build up in the bays and along the walls. A regular sweep keeps the car park presentable for residents and visitors and is often the first thing a prospective buyer notices.
Warehouses and distribution floors
Pallet debris, shrink-wrap, dust and grit across large floor areas between the racking. Sweeping between shifts keeps the floor safer for forklifts and staff and reduces the dust that settles on stock.
Showrooms, yards and event floors
Large sealed floors and hardstands that need to look clean before customers arrive, an audit happens or an event opens. A one-off sweep, priced per job, resets the floor in an evening.

How we sweep a large floor
A sweep the committee or manager can see was done
Each sweep is recorded in your portal with the date and the inspection score, and any issues found on the floor are logged as notes. For strata buildings, that record is the easy answer when a resident asks when the car park was last cleaned.

Walkthrough and floor check
The owner looks at the floor type, the access and turning room, the traffic and the debris, confirms the sweeper is suitable and gives you a written price per sweep or a periodic frequency.
- 02
Schedule around vehicles
Car parks are swept when the bays are mostly empty and warehouses between shifts, under a safe work method statement that covers the machine and the site traffic.
- 03
Sweep, then finish by hand
The ride-on sweeper does the open floor with the dust contained in the filtered hopper. Edges, corners, column bases and grates are finished by hand so the whole floor is clean, not just the lanes.
- 04
Inspect and record
The owner inspects the floor, notes anything found such as oil, lighting faults or dumped items, and records the sweep and the next date in your portal.

How often should a car park be swept?
Busy strata and commercial car parks are usually swept monthly, with quarterly often enough for small or covered car parks with little leaf fall. Warehouse floors depend on the activity, from weekly to monthly. The walkthrough sets the frequency and the inspection scores show whether it needs changing.
Is ride-on sweeping better than a broom or a blower?
For large floors, yes. A broom moves the dust and takes hours; a blower raises it into the air and pushes it into the corners. A mechanical sweeper lifts the debris with brushes and holds the dust in a filtered hopper, so the floor is clean and the air is not full of grit afterwards.
Can you sweep while the car park or warehouse is in use?
We prefer not to. Car parks are swept after hours when the bays are mostly empty, and warehouses between shifts, under a safe work method statement that deals with site traffic. Where a floor is in use around the clock, the sweep is sectioned and coordinated with your site manager.
Do you remove oil stains as well?
Oil spots are noted and, where the scope includes it, treated. A full degrease and pressure wash of the car park is a separate job that is often scheduled with the sweep so the floor is done in one visit.
What does ride-on sweeping cost?
It is priced per sweep after a walkthrough, based on the floor area, the debris, the access and the time of day. For regular clients it is a periodic line item in the scope with its own frequency, approved separately by the committee or manager.
